As the name implies, it is a museum dedicated to the natural history (archaeology, paleontology, etc.) of the region with both permanent and rotating displays, exhibits, and galleries.

Is it worth the cost? |

Probably more so than spending the same amount of money on a roller coaster.

It's not quite as exciting as a roller coaster, but just because Luxor has decided that it no longer wants to have an Egyptian theme doesn't mean that you can't walk like an Egyptian in Las Vegas now that one of the hotel's former attractions has moved in a new location.
The King Tut Museum was a popular tourist destination at Luxor for years but the parent company's decision to de-Egypt the interior spaces meant saying Ta-Ta to Tut. The attraction is now at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum in a 4,000 square-foot exhibition entitled "Treasures of Egypt."
The exhibit is filled with faithful reproductions of what was found in King Tut's tomb (all blessed as being historically accurate by the Egyptian government) plus additional Egyptian faux-treasures - about twice was on display at the Luxor. What all this has to do with Las Vegas' natural history is a whole other question.

What's the bottom line?

This is a good place to take bored smaller children but the only adults or teenagers that will get into it are those that are into the subject. Educational but this is Las Vegas and you're on vacation - why?
