    Neon Museum: The Low Down
    What Is It?
For now, it is an installation of classic Las Vegas neon signs along Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas that have refurbished to their former glory. Included are the horse and rider from the old Hacienda hotel, the original lamp from The Aladdin, and a variety of other classics.

By summer of 2012, however, the Neon museum will have its first ever permanent home. It will feature a visitors' center, gallery, and tours of the Neon Boneyard.

    Where is it?
The restored signs are located on and around Fremont Street and the Fremont Street Experience. The permanent museum facility will be located a few blocks north on Las Vegas Boulevard at McWilliams Street, where the Neon Boneyard is now.

    Is it worth the cost?
Seeing the restored signs on Fremont Street is free. There is no word yet on how much it will cost to visit the full museum facility, but I think it will be totally worth whatever they charge.

What else do I need to know?
This is a not-for-profit organization that needs all the help they can get so if you are so inclined, you can make a donation via their website.

Note also that until the permanent facility is open in summer of 2012, tours of the Neon Boneyard are available on a limited basis.

    What's the bottom line?
It doesn't get more iconic Vegas than this.
