An indoor go-kart track using electric vehicles.
Just west of The Strip off of Flamingo Rd.
It's not cheap but it is a lot of fun.
The helmets you are required to wear are snug and the carts themselves are small. Claustrophobics or really big people need not apply.
I feel the need... the need for speed!
Going fast is not always the best strategy at Pole Position Raceway, an indoor go-kart facility near The Strip. Getting the fastest lap time and/or beating the other racers to the finish line requires a bit more finesse than just tromping on the accelerator and staying off the wall. You need to know when to brake, when to turn, when to lift off the pedal just enough so that you can get into the back stretch with the maximum amount of speed.
Or you could say "to heck with all of that" and just go fast.
Pole Position Raceway is similar in concept to the nearby competing Fast Lap facility but only insofar as you get into a go-kart and drive. Where Fast Lap features loud, gas-powered vehicles in a no-frills warehouse like setting, Pole Position has electric vehicles and is more polished all the way around.
Don't worry about a lack of power with electric vs. gas. We're not talking a Nissan Leaf vs. a Ferrari here. The electric karts go plenty fast and you get the added bonus of not risking hearing loss while you race.
The rest is all about window dressing. Yes, Fast Lap has a more pure, down and dirty feeling to it but Pole Position has air conditioning so that wins in my book.
In addition to the track there is also a virtual reality game arcade, a gift shop, and more to keep you entertained between laps.
