The Stardust opened in 1958 on the north end of The Strip between what was then the New Frontier and what would become Circus-Circus. Capitalizing on a space-age theme that was popular at the time, the Stardust went on to become one of the most popular casinos of its era. The hotel closed and was torn down in 2007 to make way for a new development of hotels and a casino to be called Echelon but that project is on hold.
