    Gipsy: The Low Down
    What Is It?
Once the most popular gay nightclub in Las Vegas, this dance/cruise bar can still draw decent crowds on weekend nights but has been eclipsed in the zeitgeist meter by Krave and Piranha.
What Kind of Crowd Does It Draw?
Mostly tourists who want to dance and cruise.
    What Are the Prices Like?
Cover charge varies, but figure at least $10 and sometimes twice that.
When is the Best Time To Go?
It's only open on Friday and Saturday nights these days so your choices are limited.
    Why Should I Go Here?
Because the lines at Krave and Piranha are too long.
What Else Do I Need To Know?
There are several other gay bars within a few steps of this place so if you feel like making this a pit stop on your gay bar-hopping tour, it's nearby.

    Gipsy: Full Review
Back in the day, Gipsy used to be THE place to go for gay and lesbian Vegas tourists. The lines were long, the cover prices high, and the competition to be noticed was fierce. But competition has gotten the better of it in recent years including from sister and neighboring club Piranha and from Krave, whose Strip location makes it the choice for most gay tourists these days. Now, while still undeniably popular, the club is only open on weekends and the crowd is much more transitory, meaning that they may be here but they may be thinking they should be somewhere else.

Gipsy is pretty much just like the gay nightclubs in whatever city you're from, only it's just down the street from a casino. A big dance floor takes up the center of the room with the main bar area off to the side and lots of tables available for "VIPs" (meaning, people willing to pay extra). The crowd is mixed but still trends younger and on the prowl so if that sounds appealing to you, you've found your place.

The good news is that cover and drink prices, which used to feel too expensive, are now more in line with the norms so you can make a stop here and, if it isn't working for you, move on to the next place and not feel like you've been ripped off in the process.
