What Is It?
|
|
A 140 acre bird preserve with thousands of migratory waterfowl and desert birds. There are nine ponds, viewing areas, and trails plus a gift shop and resources to aid in figuring out what bird you are looking at.
Where Is It?
On the far east side of town near Sunset Station.
Is It Worth the Cost?
It's free, so heck yeah. Of course you have to get here so that will require a car or a cab so you would really need to like bird-watching to justify the cost of that.
Why Should I Go Here?
Because you really want to see a Norther Shoveler, a White Winged Scoter, and a Red-Breasted Merganser. No, I don't know what they are either.
What Else Do I Need To Know?
The facility has shortened hourse during the hot summer months.
What's the Bottom Line?
This is a good way to escape the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas if you need a nature break.
