What Is It?
|
|
Your chance to have a Formula 1 racing experience, either behind the wheel of an acutal Indy style racer or as a passenger in specially modified version of the cars. You can choose from various packages that will give you timed laps with instruction, a pace vehicle, photos, certificates of completion, and more.
Where Is It?
At the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, about 15 miles north of The Strip. You'll need a car or a cab to get there.
Is It Worth the Cost?
It is very expensive, no matter which experience you choose. A ride-along is $129 and to drive yourself ranges from $329 for a single 5-minute session on the track up to $2,000 for four 8-minute sessions. Whether it's worth it to you or not totally depends on how badly you want to drive a race car like this.
Why Should I Go Here?
Because you want to drive really, really fast.
What Else Do I Need To Know?
The chances of Mr. Andretti actually being there during your visit are slim at best, but the instructors they have are all certified veterans and will give you the peace of mind you need before strapping yourself into what amounts to a rocket on wheels.
What's the Bottom Line?
This can be a great deal of fun if you can afford it.
